As promised, here are the photographs from Thursday’s Take a Walk in Her Shoes benefit fashion show.

C. Madeleine’s was honored to be part of the second annual Take a Walk in Her Shoes for the Community Partnership for the Homeless. Hosted by Womenade, the affair’s goal was to raise funds to benefit the homeless in our community; to not only offer temporary help but to assist in rehabilitation in the long-term. We are incredibly grateful to be included in something that stands for improvement and progress in our beloved city and are delighted to be part of this noble cause.

The event consisted of a silent auction, luncheon and fashion show at the Biltmore Hotel this past Thursday. The show, produced by C. Madeleine’s & styled by the one and only Danny Santiago, was a success. Based on the fashions of the 1950s and 1960s, the assembled looks were stunning and unique, yet wearable by contemporary and fashion-conscious women.

Backstage, an amazing group of hairdressers and make-up artists from the RikRak Salon went to work on a dozen models. The presentation was not without the usual fashion show blend of chaos, nail-biting and last-minute changes. That being said, it all came together perfectly in the end.

Below are a handful of behind the scene snapshots. More photos coming soon!

C. Madeleine’s Madeleine Kirsh is featured as BeSleek.com’s new Style Profile feature. See the Q & A with Madeleine and learn about her philosophy on fashion as individualism. The vintage fashion phenomenon is now a trending topic and Madeleine set the curve over a decade ago as the visionary for what a vintage fashion store should be. Now embraced by celebrities, stylists, fashion magazines, fashion writes, editors and designers, the fashion public is incorporating it into what to wear for their special occasions and day to day wardrobe. Watching the runway shows of recent weeks in Paris, Milan and New York Fashion Weeks, fashion’s future takes a cue from fashion’s past.

Here are some runway looks for next spring which can already be found in C. Madeleine’s from collections past:

1960s inspired looks from C. Madeleine’s at last Saturday’s vintage fashion showcase
at the Viceroy.

Over 70 looks were modeled spanning every era from the 1920s to the 1990s,
an over the top array from the eras of fashion represented in the C. Madeleine’s
vintage designer clothing showroom and website that can be mixed with today’s
pieces for a sophisticated balance of past and present. The stylish turnout made
for a fabulous afternoon with Danny Santiago, stylists, fashion designers and
fashion afficianados alike.

C. Madeleine’s Madeleine Kirsh and supporters of Community Partnership for the
Homeless raised money for the new WOMENADE campaign, which aids area women in their
times of need. A great showing for a fun inaugural event!

Valerie Duardo and Alfred Barrera went to the Ocean Drive Chloe Fashion show representing C. Madeleines. Here are some photos taken at the event.

When we decide what items to add to the C. Madeleine’s online boutique, it is probably the most fun one could have at a job with their clothes on. Liken it to the Vogue fashion closet or, Elle’s editorial, Marie Claire’s intern office. The store becomes the ultimate international bazaar, and each aisle is a runway to seasons past, to the fashion shows of the legends of fashion design, and a treasure hunt for obscure interesting items from obscure interesting designers.

With 10,000 square footage of vintage fashion masterpieces to choose from, it is every girl’s fashionable dream. How lucky are we.

Having recently remodeled the online boutique with a virtual facelift and fabulous makeover, the most fun has been deciding what to stock the store with, how to fill up our new space. We first added modern vintage pieces from more contemporary designers, which has been popular. Next, we took a spin around the store and the cases and cases of glitz and glam and unusual accessories left our heads spinning, so we added vintage jewelry and unique belts, bags, and baubles that we thought you would enjoy. Now notice there are shoes. Limited edition, one of kind shoes that will never be released again. Signed by their respective designer in some instances.

What comes next? We add new things every week and think about what the fashion lover and vintage cravers are looking for, what you would be delighted to see. We ask ourselves, what pieces from C. Madeleine’s collection are dying to be shared with the world? And those are the items we shoot and boot up for your perusal. We like to keep it varietal, a mix of high and low, old and newish, glam and understated, designer and unlabeled. Please enjoy.

If you have any suggestions, eras, designers you would like to see added to or more of on the site, please contact us. We aim to please.
