STAR-STUDDED NIGHTS: The 2016 CFDA Awards

On Monday night, fashion’s best dressed and the who’s who flocked to Hammerstein Ballroom to celebrate the 2016 CFDA Awards (Council of Fashion Designers of America). Teeming with reputable fashion designers, star-studded celebrities, and other industry notables, it was an evening dedicated to all things fashion.

Thakoon & Taylor Hill, Karlie Kloss, Martha Hunt & Shanina Shaik, Ciarra, and Josephine Skriver

Founded by Eleanor Lambert, dedicated in spearheading American fashion brands into the limelight, the CFDA’s mission is to “strengthen the impact of American Fashion in the Global Economy.” Responsible for a number of programs, including education, professional development, and creative and intellectual property protection, the CFDA prides itself on helping revitalize New York City’s garment industry with its very own Fashion Manufacturing Initiative.

Marc Jacobs, Thom Browne, Paul Andrew, Brandon Maxwell, Orley

Hosted by Diane von Furstenberg, it was no surprise the inventor of the wrap dress praised Queen Bae with this year’s Fashion Icon Award. Marc Jacobs won Womenswear Designer while Thom Browne was awarded for menswear. The Swarovski Award for Womenswear went to Brandon Maxwell, Orley took home Menswear and Paul Andrew won for his in-demand accessories.
