This week our beloved (and C. Madeleine’s regular) Michael Kors presented his Resort 2014 Collection in New York City. With a statement of color and pattern only evoked by Palm Springs, we fell in love with this collection immediately. The versatility of the collection is perfect for the “variable temperatures and occasions” that the season offers up. The mix of flared trousers, lace shorts, tailored jackets, oversized and fitted knits, along with graphic cut-out swimwear represented the glamourous extravagance that we can all relate to when packing for vacation. Lest we not forget the stunning Lucite accessories, which were inspired by California furniture designer Charles Hollis Jones.
Kors stated “it’s all about elongated silhouettes,” introducing color-blocked skirts and sleek tops as a sporty alternative to warm-weather dresses. Not to forget his classic roots, the collection ended with fully embellished evening gowns featuring long sleeves and floor-grazing hems which offered a type of bold elegance only matched by Michael Kors himself.
Here are just a few looks that I fell in love with;
