Roses, chocolate, drugstore cards- am I the only one who wants a little bit more this year for Valentine’s Day? Something exciting, something enticing, something a bit risqué? Alright so maybe I’m on a bit of a 50 Shades binge (have our last two posts on femme fatales and 50 Shades-inspired goods not given it away?) but the past few weeks have me thinking, are you ever too old to feel sexy?
The answer is no, of course. You’re never too old to feel sexy. But remember, that sexuality and sensuality aren’t one in the same. It’s not as easy as lacing up a pair of fabulous Casadei boots (like the ones I’m wearing, which are on sale at the store)! You have to first tap into your sensual side, the side that makes you want a little more in life, that excites you in ways that would make your most conservative friend blush (not that I know from experience or anything)…
Coco Chanel, Marlene Dietrich, Sofia Loren – all women who, like a good wine, got better with age, and no one could argue their ability to lure men and women with their charm even as their laugh lines piled on. It’s not about how you look, but how you feel, and I feel damn great at my age (which is just past 25).
So, what’s my advice on aging with allure? Confidence. Don’t dress the age you’re supposed to. Dress the age you feel, and then subtract a few years. Youth, sexiness, life- it’s all a state of mind. And here at C.Madeleine’s, we know just how to make things that seem to have an age look brand new and fresh at all times.
