The iconic house of Jean Patou will be revived, hopefully in time to show for Spring 2014. Jean Patou is said to be the creator of the Tennis Skirt, and has been known and loved throughout the years for this impeccable eye for sportswear. Said to have been ” as important as Chanel,” in the 1920s by Karl Lagerfeld, the French designer dressed many a movie star.

“We already have plans, we have ideas and know what sort of fashion we would like to do—and even consulted designers, who are all excited because no matter what school they’ve done, for them Patou is an enormous reference,” said the brand’s vice president, Bruno Cottard, stopping short of specifics. We’re excited to see what the new collections will feature! There’s something so wonderful about Patou’s 1920’s easy glamour that really fits into today’s fashion. From his glamourous 50’s looks to his stellar 60’s shifts, up until the late 80’s, Patou (and his subsequent designers) really understood what women truly wanted. The band has been loved for years for it’s elegant take on sporty chic, and there’s no better time than now to bring back the trailblazing house.
